Meet the animals
Here at Belmont we have a small herd of 3 Jersey Cows, and their three calves.
Jersey cows are known to have the creamiest milk out of any cow breed they are also slightly smaller than most cow breeds and extreamly friendly!
Currently all our poultry are spending some time in our external paddocks having a little break from the public. We are building new enclosures for them all in the new farm setting and you will be able to see them all back at the farm very soon!
Not only does Belmont have tame sheep that you can feed and pet, but did you know that the staff at Belmont also farm a commercial flock of around 150 sheep. You can often see these when you go on the tractor and trailer ride around the farm. Also in the spring time there will be lots of baby lambs bouncing around in the fields and up on the farm, where you can join in with helping bottle feed them.
Don't forget you can pick up some animal feed from reception to hand feed the adult sheep at any time.
Although not native to the UK alpacas are now farmed all across the country for their amazing wool. Alpaca wool is as soft as cashmere, warmer than sheep’s wool, hypo-allergenic and almost completely waterproof. The Alpacas are really friendly and love to come over to eat food out of your hand and get stroked.
Don't forget you can pick up some animal food from reception to hand fee the alpaca's!
No farm would be without some pigs. Being one of the most intelligent animals in the animal kingdom, even more intelligent than dogs, pigs are extremely interesting to watch and have great characters. Wether they are sleeping in their shed, rolling in mud to protect their skin from the sun or running for some food. You can find our pigs just up the path between the Cows and the Alpaca.
Come and meet Dinky and Splash our two Shetland ponies. These two have been at the farm as long as it has been open. The love to meet people and be pampered in our pony pampering sessions which can be added onto birthday party packages.
